You will be required to confirm that your site meets the following requirements before any installation @ your location appointment can be made.
1. The actual location of the equipment site is accessible with the use of a sack trolley or similar. Many items that we install can be quite heavy and thus may be delivered by the means of a trolley. Therefore it is a requirement that suitable access can be gained.
2. The area where the new equipment is to be installed is appropriate for the installation. [At a minimum please ensure that the equipment has good ventilation or at best it is being installed in an air conditioned room. Also consider any noise should it be an open office.]
3. If the equipment is being installed into a rack, please ensure that there is adequate space available around the entire rack. The engineer must be able to gain safe access to both the front and rear of any rack assembly. If the engineer cannot gain safe access to rack they may not be able to install the equipment. Also the engineer will be unable to re-route any existing cables or re-locate any existing equipment within the rack assembly. Therefore please ensure that there is both adequate space within the rack for the new equipment and that there are no existing cables blocking access for the new equipment.
4. Please note that if the equipment is being installed in a rack and the installation height is above three foot in height then please ensure that there will be someone available to assist the engineer to lift the new equipment into the rack assembly, if required.
5. There are suitable and adequate power resources for the new equipment. If being placed on a UPS please ensure that the UPS meets all specifications as required.
6. There are suitable, adequate and working network connections for the new equipment if the equipment being installed is network connection based.
7. There will be a contact person on site and readily available for the engineer to contact should any matters arise. Please note that the engineer may have other jobs booked and thus their time is restricted, therefore they may not be able to wait on site if a contact person is not available.
8. Please note that the installation engineer is a hardware based engineer, and is only going to perform a hardware installation. Once any equipment is installed the engineer will perform a basic test setup and ensure that the equipment can be either seen on the computer it is attached to, or can be viewed on the network from one network terminal. The engineer will not be able to provide additional network configuration or installation of additional software, if any is required.
If you are in any doubt that the above requirements are not being met at your location please contact us prior to the installation date.
Please be aware that if the engineer feels that the equipment cannot be installed due to any of the above requirements not being met then the equipment will not be installed, but the installation @ your location fee will still be charged. If this happens then any further or subsequent visits by the engineer will also be chargeable at our normal rates.
Thanks for choosing the ExpertsInStorage.com Installation @ Your Location service!
